About
Evolution Basketball Club offers year-round club basketball that includes AAU Club Basketball league play, Winter Skills Clinic, Spring AAU, and multiple Summer Camps. The program also offers an Elite Summer Camp with a focus on Basketball & All Sports, along with private 1-on-1 training, semi-private small group training, and team training that focus on specific and position-specific skills. Each AAU team practices twice a week and participates in at least four tournaments, totaling 12–16 games over the course of a season.

• Schedule: Year-round club basketball with Spring (March 7–May 3), Summer Part One (May 4–June 28), Summer Part Two (July 6–August 22), Fall (September 3–November 1), and Winter (November 2–December 20) seasons, plus Elite Summer Camp 2025 sessions in June and July with half-day and full-day options
John Schrup is the Founder and Head Coach of Evolution Basketball Club, serves as Founder & Director and Head Coach of HS Adidas Gold, and is the Head Coach of the Varsity Evolution team. He led his team to back-to-back championships at the West Coast Championship in Los Angeles and the Las Vegas National tournament in the summer of 2022, and previously served as Head Coach for the Design Tech High School boys’ Varsity team, Associate Head Coach for Foothill College Men’s basketball, and JV then Varsity coach at San Mateo High School. He played collegiate basketball at Notre Dame de Namur University and was an All-League award winner in high school, leading his team to a League Title and CCS quarterfinals appearance. The leadership team also includes Assistant Director Dimitri Koutsogeorgas, who has experience as a former Varsity and College basketball player; Operations Manager Kristen Johnson, who has over six years of service with Evolution Basketball Club; Head Coach Andre Elhihi; 15U and 16U Head Coach Abram Guldech; 13U and 14U Jr. Adidas Head Coach Aaron Friedkin; and 14U and 15U Head Coach Sean Richardson.
The stated mission of Evolution Basketball Club is: “Helping young athletes be the best they can be so that they can achieve their goals is our mission here at Evolution.” The program notes involvement with Local Partners. For new players, families must complete and submit the Liability Waiver, select the season, and choose the Nike uniform as part of the registration process.
