Bay Area Boxing has been operating since 2010 and has been in Belmont for 15 years. The gym offers 54 classes per week, serves ages 6 and up and all skill levels, and has programs for adults, kids, beginners, competitors, and families. Brian Fernandez received a Black Belt in Judo in 1994 under Willy Cahill and a Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in 2007, has been training martial arts for over 20 years, and as a Black Belt can rank students up to his level. Alexey Bulankov is a USA Boxing-certified coach and competitive boxer with a background in Soviet-style boxing training methodology. Phillip Mendoza began formally training and competing in Muay Thai in 2010 and has a focus on fundamentals. Victor “Vick” Chen began martial arts training in 1993, trained at the Sasiprapa Gym in Thailand for over six years starting in 2009, and continues to train with top-level gyms in New York City, Amsterdam, and the UK.
