San Mateo Gymnastics has been operating since 1977 under Margaret Morrison’s ownership and offers a year-round program. It originally started at a small facility in San Mateo, CA and relocated to Belmont, CA in 1987. All students follow a planned, progressive program of development, and the gym provides gymnastics training for every skill level, including beginners and competitive athletes.
Each year, instructors attend the Regional Congress for up-to-date training to follow USA Gymnastics standards. The facility provides equipment specified by USA Gymnastics, including training aids designed to increase safety to a maximum. The competitive program follows USA Gymnastics Level 3 through Elite for both men and women, and athletes compete in State, Regional, National, and International competitions.
San Mateo Gymnastics states that its mission is: “We build strength, confidence, and discipline through expert gymnastics instruction.” The program shares that families can support the gym by shopping Destira leotards. Parents have reported their experiences, including: “My daughter's confidence has grown tremendously since joining San Mateo Gymnastics.” (Sarah Johnson), “The coaches here are incredible. They truly care about each athlete's progress.” (Mike Rodriguez), and “These classes have been a game-changer for my son's physical and mental development.” (Emily Chen).
