About
Stepping Stone Summer Camps offers Chinese language and culture learning, stories reading, cultural workshops, arts and crafts, cooking, science experiments, Robotics, and outdoor play on playgrounds. Campers also take part in soccer, basketball, dodgeball, and baseball activities. The program includes both a Chinese Language & Culture Camp and a Robotics Camp with set daily schedules and defined sessions.
• Ages: 5–11 years old
• Schedule: Chinese Language & Culture Camp offers 9 sessions with full-day (8:30am–5pm) and half-day (8:30am–1pm or 1pm–5pm) options, and Robotics Camp offers 2 sessions from 9am–5pm.
• Price: Chinese Language & Culture Camp full-day sessions are $480 per session, half-day AM or PM sessions are $260 per session, and Robotics Camp sessions are $980 per session.
Over the past 10 years, Stepping Stone has received abundant positive feedbacks from parents and students. The program includes a Mandarin Immersion after school care program, Chinese Language & Culture Camp, Robotics Camp, and camps during the second week of Winter Break, Mid-winter Break, Spring Break, and Summer. It is established and run in a formal school setting environment, with each grade in its own classroom and no mix of grades. Being outdoor on a daily basis is emphasized for physical and emotional health, and the program is located inside the Barrett Community Center with access to large outdoor space. Families who register before 3/31 receive 5% off.
The Robotics Camp instructor, Coach Hao, is the owner and founder of Robot Gyms. Coach Hao graduated from Dartmouth College with a Master Degree in Computer Science, has worked as a software engineer for over 20 years, and is the head coach of several FTC Robotics Teams. Stepping Stone is partnered with the City of Belmont Park and Recreation. The program’s stated goal is to reassure parents that their kids are in a trusting, safe and fun environment where they can learn and advance as responsible individuals, and it pledges to help students grow with self-esteem, discipline and love while inspiring them to become confident, honest and responsible individuals.
