Summer Musical Theater Camps focuses on rehearsing and performing an exciting musical production of HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL JR. Campers design and create individual props and sets, play drama and improv games that introduce and reinforce acting techniques, and take part in a full musical performance for friends and family. The session ends with a cast party that includes drama games and karaoke.
• Ages: 6–15 years old
• Schedule: Two-week theater camps, Monday–Friday, 9am–4pm, with Session 1 from 6/15–6/26 and Session 2 from 7/6–7/17; final performance on Thursday during the second week of each session
• Price: $960 per session through Belmont Parks and Rec website, including tuition and all material fees
Summer Musical Theater Camps has limited space for ages 6–15 and includes kids of all experience levels and abilities in rehearsals, set creation, drama games, and a full musical performance for friends and family in a show that is described as truly their own. The program takes place in a flexible, creative environment that allows kids of all experience levels and abilities to thrive, with an approach described as very nurturing and stress-free and with a focus on cultivating a love for theater in young performers. Performers at Mugglebee Theater collaborate with a veteran staff in education and theater. The leadership team includes Executive and Artistic Director Erin Mugglebee and Education and Teambuilding Director David Mugglebee.
Mugglebee Theater operates Summer Musical Theater Camps in partnership with Belmont Parks and Rec and also offers year-round and after-school programs, as well as corporate team building services using improvisation. Summer Musical Theater Camps enrollment opens April 3rd, and registration for the weekly summer musical theater camp dates is done through the Belmont Parks and Recreation website system. Parents need to create a login on the Belmont Parks and Rec website and then search for Mugglebee Theater. The stated mission is to turn work into play, to offer a highly engaging, fun and playful collaborative experience, and to help individuals and organizations gain the skills and information needed to cultivate and nurture creativity and innovation.
