About
Berkeley Lacrosse Club offers basic stick skills stations and fast-paced 3v3 tournament-style scrimmages. Coed sessions are available, and the program includes both new and returning players in these activities.
• Schedule: Summer sessions meet on Mondays from 5–6:30pm from Monday June 8th through Monday August 3rd, with coed sessions held once a week on Sundays; the spring season runs from early February through mid-May, with games starting in March, and 8U teams practice 1 day a week, 10U and 12U teams practice 2 days a week, and 14U teams practice 3 days a week
Berkeley Lacrosse Club is a volunteer-run, non-profit youth sports club whose players come from all over the East Bay, and everyone is welcome. The club states that no experience is necessary, coed sessions are offered, and there is no need to rent gear or equipment for the summer program, with parents expressing that they are grateful for loaner equipment. The club’s goal is high reps, small-sided play, and lots of touches for both new and returning players, and it states that players will develop athletic skills, learn teamwork, and gain confidence both on and off the field. The program’s stated goal is to create a fun, inclusive, and encouraging lacrosse community where coaches prioritize creating a positive environment in which every player feels valued and motivated to improve. Coaches receive Level 1 Coaching and Positive Coaching Alliance certification, and the club notes that its alumni play lacrosse in high school and college and return to join the coaching staff. The Berkeley Lacrosse Club was one of the first clubs established in the Bay Area, and its mission is to provide kids of almost any age, from anywhere in the East Bay, the opportunity to learn and play lacrosse. The club performs school outreach through parents and P.E. teachers to create and expand awareness of the program, and it states that it is fortunate to be able to provide a limited number of need-based scholarships. The club notes that turf fields give it the advantage of a longer practice season with virtually no interruptions due to weather.
