Centro Latino

Centro Latino offers Spanish and Portuguese lessons that include Literatura, Conversacion, and Pronunciacion classes. The program includes Spanish and Portuguese language instruction with small groups and classes running all year round. Teachers are Spanish native speakers and professional native speakers from over six different countries, and there is no registration fee.

• Schedule: Every level in the Regular Program lasts 3 months, with options to meet twice a week for 1.5 hours, once a week for 3 hours, or on Saturdays for 2 hours; there is also a Regular Intensive Program that meets twice a week for 3 hours (24 hours a month), an Intensive One-Week Program with 2 hours of private lessons and 3 hours of group classes, and One Week Special Classes that meet once a week for 1.5 hours. Operation hours are Monday–Friday 9:00 am–8:30 pm and Saturday 10:00 am–2:30 pm.

Centro Latino has been providing Spanish and Portuguese lessons to the East Bay community since 1993. Esther runs the business. Since the beginning, its mission has been to serve the community by offering language learning that supports cultural understanding and exchange and to make the study of a new language a stimulating and enjoyable experience while creating a sense of community among students and teachers. One parent described the teachers as dedicated native instructors who teach, encourage students to learn, and share Latino culture, and another noted that classes are small, with everyone participating and a supportive environment over multiple years of study.
