About

The Jazzschool Young Musicians Program includes ensembles, classes, workshops, and concert performances for instrumentalists and vocalists. The program focuses on theory, performance, musicianship, improvisation, composition, history, culture, aesthetics, and the music business. Students are frequently featured in concert performances that are free to the public.

• Ages: 5–18 years old
• Schedule: Office hours with program activity options Monday–Thursday and weekends, with evening hours on weekdays and daytime hours on Saturday and Sunday

The Jazzschool operates year-round on a quarterly basis and consists of the Jazzschool Adult Music Program and the Jazzschool Young Musicians Program, offering an array of courses, ensembles, performance opportunities, and workshops to build all aspects of musicianship. With a formidable faculty of renowned musicians and educators, the Jazzschool is described as a cornerstone of the Bay Area’s thriving music scene. The Jazzschool community music program provides music education and performance opportunities for people of all ages and levels of ability, and Fall 2024 was the final semester of the Jazzschool's degree programs.
