Kala Youth Arts Programs are part of Kala Art Institute, which offers professional facilities for work in and across printmaking and digital media, installation, sound, sculpture, and performance. The programs include Camp Kala Summer Youth Arts Program, Camp Kala 2026, an After School Studio for 1st–5th grade students, and a Teen Studio Art Program for 6th–12th grade students.

Kala’s Teaching Artists are educators and artists who represent a broad range of cultural backgrounds and artistic approaches, and they are selected for their professional skills, engagement with the art community, and experience teaching children, teens, and adults. The After School Studio (1st–5th Grade) is described as a fun, interactive art-making experience for young artists in grades 1–5, and the Teen Studio Art Program serves students in grades 6–12. A 10% multi-child or multi-session discount and reduced tuition are available for After School Studio, and a 10% multi-session or sibling discount and tuition assistance are available for the Teen Studio Art Program. Kala also offers artist residencies and fellowships, including Artist-in-Residence, Fellowship, Veterans Residency, Curatorial Fellowship, Media Arts Residency, Parent Artist Residency, and Print Public Residency Programs. Kala Art Institute’s mission is to help artists sustain their creative work over time through its Artist-in-Residence and Fellowship Programs, and to engage the community through exhibitions, public programs, and education. Kala receives a 2025 Creative Forces Community Engagement grant and is located in Huichin, the home territory of Chochenyo speaking Ohlone people, on unceded Lisjan Ohlone land.
