Wild Wonders began in 1991 and is celebrating its 35th year. The staff consists of degreed professionals with extensive experience in educating the public, as well as the handling and training of diverse species. Wild Wonders, Inc. is a licensed and insured wildlife education organization with more than 100 animal ambassadors and is a member of the American Association of Zookeepers and accredited by the Zoological Association of America. All 100 animal ambassadors came from other educational facilities, were confiscated or owner relinquished illegal pets, or are non-releasable native wildlife, and none have been taken from the wild.

The program’s stated goal is to excite the public and foster a desire to preserve and learn about wildlife and the important role animals play in the planet people share. Wild Wonders regularly presents programs about wildlife to many groups including schools, hospitals, and other organizations and has global conservation partners. Wild Ecotours, a travel subsidiary, offers small-group, intimate tours to destinations around the world with a naturalist guide and superb accommodations often featuring a private chef.

Visitor testimonials describe the facility as beautifully kept, with animals that are clearly loved and well cared for, and staff who are friendly, knowledgeable, and caring. One visitor notes an experience focused on fennec foxes that included meeting and petting animals such as an opossum, legless lizard, tortoise, kinkajou, and groundhog. Another visitor highlights a repeat experience feeding a bearcat. Jack Hanna states that Wild Wonders, Inc. regularly presents programs about wildlife to many groups to teach people about animals and conservation and notes a unique ability to communicate to and inspire those who take part in the programs.
