DS Arts

DS Arts offers art classes for kids and teens who work with paint, clay, and a variety of other media. Regular season classes meet once a week for ninety minutes, four times each month, and the monthly fee includes all basic project supplies.

Programs

• Classes for Kids — ages 5-6, 7-9, 10-11, 12 & up · Mon 3:30 pm-5:00 pm; Tue 3:30 pm-5:00 pm; Wed 3:30 pm-5:00 pm; Thu 3:30 pm-5:00 pm; Fri 8:30 am-10:00 am or 10:30 am-12:00 pm · $120 per month · Art classes meet once a week for ninety minutes, four times each month. Students may also rent a locker for $10 per month and must purchase a studio art bin.
• Advanced Painting class — ages 12 & up · Thu 5:30 pm-7:00 pm · $120 per month · By invitation only.
• Classes for kids of Charter & Home Schools — ages 5-9 and 10 & up · Fri 8:30 am-10:00 am or 10:30 am-12:00 pm · Classes for homeschool children begin on Friday, September 5th. Official vendor for Pacific Coast, Mission Vista and Cabrillo Point Academies.
• Adult Ceramics — adults · Tue 10:00 am-12:00 pm; Tue 5:30 pm-7:30 pm · $130 per month

About the provider

Debi Smerdon has taught art to children and adults in the Imperial Valley for over twenty years. The program says its goal is to share the beauty of art by bringing classes, workshops, and activities to Brawley and the Imperial Valley, and it is an official vendor for Pacific Coast, Mission Vista, and Cabrillo Point Academies.

Reservations are required for classes and special workshops. Hours vary based on the class enrolled in. Cash or credit card payments are accepted. Credit card purchases have a convenience fee. Cancellation policy is listed with each class or workshop. Cancellations for workshops with guest artists are non-refundable.
