About

Brisbane Dance Workshop offers classes and experiences in theater and dance. The program partners with professional artists to lead these performing arts activities, and participants take part in collaborative performances.

• Ages: 3–18 years old

Now in its 4th decade, Brisbane Dance Workshop offers theater and dance classes for children and adults ages 3 and up. The organization is a nonprofit operated by a volunteer Board of Directors made up of parents and community members with a stated passion for the performing arts. The leadership team includes Founder and Artistic Director Camille Salmon, along with board officers and members Elna Miller (Technology, Operations & Enrollment), Karen Lentz (President), Dawn David (Vice President), Nancy Coon (Treasurer), Karen Latham (Secretary), Mandy Cline (Board Member), Haley Smith Henderson (Board Member), Theresa Jimenez (Board Member), Karen Smith (Board Member), and Arlene Stucky (Board Member).

According to its mission statement, Brisbane Dance Workshop partners with professional artists to facilitate performing arts classes and experiences, focuses on nurturing the creative and magical spirit of each participant, and showcases participants’ achievements in collaborative performances. The mission statement also notes that skills learned extend beyond the stage and are connected to personal growth for success in individual aspirations. BDW describes itself as community based and notes that its community events, fundraisers, and spring performance rely on volunteers. The 2026 performance season features a show titled “Hook,” which follows the adventures of Peter, Wendy, and friends in a version of the classic tale.
