Lucile Cowle Swim School offers Baby & Me classes, group and private swim lessons, a swim team including a Beginner LC Swim Team, stroke clinics, special needs lessons, special abilities programs, camps, Red Cross courses, pool parties, open swim, and water aerobics. Baby & Me classes allow families to start their child swimming at 6 months, and the first Baby & Me class is free. The program also offers Red Cross courses in CPR, First Aid, and Lifeguarding.

Lucile Cowle Swim School describes itself as Burbank’s year-round premier swim school and offers a new year-round lesson structure so participants can learn to swim year-round and be ready to play in the summer. Families can keep the same instructor month to month, use free swim lesson make-ups that can be booked online, and use online enrollment. The facility is renovated with updated bathrooms and an air-conditioned viewing area.

Lucile Cowle Swim School has been in operation for over 50 years, and 2022 marks the 4th progression of ownership. The new owner is Leslie Daland, owner and operator of the Daland Swim School in Thousand Oaks, CA. Daland Swim School was founded in 1987 and has been the premiere swim school in its community for over 35 years. Leslie Daland is a world record holder in the 1650 event and has been teaching swim lessons for 20 years. Peter Daland was the USC Head Coach for 35 years.

The mission of Lucile Cowle Swim School is keeping the tradition of teaching the lifelong skill of swimming at an early age in the Burbank community. The program states that it is involved in teaching the lifelong skill of swimming at an early age in the Burbank community. One parent shared, “This school is great for kids and does a great job of teaching children how to swim. Make sure, however, to sign your child up as soon as possible because they always fill up quickly.”
