Calexico Recreation Department Programs offers a range of activities, including Basketball Clinics, a Basketball League 2026, Youth Basketball Open Gym, Guitar for Beginners, and Ballet II. The program also includes Zumba Gold, Zumba for all, Senior Aerobics, Fitness for the fun of it, Yoga at 5:00 pm, Ritmos Latinos, Acrylic Painting for beginners and advanced participants, and Artistic Drawing. • Schedule: Basketball Clinics meet on Saturdays and Sundays; other activities have options on 04/01/26 from 7:00 am to 7:50 pm, 8:10 am to 9:00 am, 9:10 am to 10:00 am, 10:00 am to 11:50 am, 12:00 pm to 1:50 pm, 4:00 pm to 4:50 pm, and 4:30 pm to 5:50 pm, and on 04/02/26 from 5:00 pm to 5:50 pm and 6:00 pm to 7:45 pm.
Registrations for Calexico Recreation Department Programs start on December 16, 2025 for senior citizens and on December 17, 2025 for the general public. The Basketball League 2026 includes divisions for 3rd–5th grade and 6th–8th grade. The Recreation Department office hours are Monday through Thursday from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm and Fridays from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, with every other Friday closed and weekends closed. The leadership team includes Recreation Manager Norma Gerardo, Program Coordinator Debbie Flores, Sports Coordinator Jamie Ann Chew, Cultural Arts Assistant Eduardo Quintero, and Administrative Assistant Ariana Hernandez. The mission of the Calexico Recreation Department is to enhance the quality of life by providing safe, positive and accessible sports and recreational programs and facilities, strengthening arts, culture, history and creative expression as tools to empower residents, and collaborating with other organizations to promote community pride, health and growth. The department’s vision is a city where the community is enriched by and has access to the arts, sports, recreation and parks, and it is involved in collaborating with other organizations to promote community pride, health and growth.
