Sunshine Day Camp offers theme days, weekly dress up days, hands-on activities, rallies, and hot lunches as part of its program. The camp includes exciting field trips, special guest entertainers, and weekly visits from the Kona Ice truck. The program also offers before and after school care, on-site care during school breaks, and tutoring services.

Sunshine Day Camp uses kid-friendly indoor facilities that are safe, decorated, and climate-controlled throughout the day. Children are organized in small groups by grade or age, with a low child-to-staff ratio typically around 10 children to 1 adult. The program offers six optional field trips for children entering grades 1–6, with stay-back care for all children in kindergarten through 6th grade who prefer to remain on campus, including trips to MB2, Regal Cinemas, Santa Clarita Bowling combined with Scooter’s Jungle, Sky Zone, a Los Angeles Sparks game, and the Santa Barbara Zoo. Special guest entertainers include Mad Science and a reptile show during weeks 1 and 8, and a hot lunch option is available each day, with special hot lunches from select vendors such as In-n-Out and Jersey Mike’s on Thursdays.
Each Sunshine Day Camp counselor undergoes a complete background check, extensive training, and child development education, including training on positive reinforcement, appropriate discipline techniques, and effective child supervision. Sunshine Day Camp operates as a licensed childcare program under the requirements of the State of California. The program offers quality school-age (TK–6th grade) and summer camp programs in a balanced environment, with a character program that includes monthly character traits and definitions, and staff described as highly qualified and trained, with strong moral character and playful personalities.
Since 1984, Sunshine Day Camp has been a part of family life in the Santa Clarita Valley, serving families and children in the community. The mission of Sunshine Day Camp is to provide an environment where academic excellence, socialization, and character training work together to produce a well educated, responsible, and respectful child, in a secure, moral, and “special” atmosphere that children look forward to each day. Parents describe Sunshine Day Camp as a trusting child care provider where children enjoy attending and sometimes want to stay longer, and they note the positive, fun, structured environment and emphasis on building character, including doing things with a “Happy Heart.”
