Capo Beach Church Preschool includes activities such as teaching Spanish, playing the guitar, and Bible instruction. Children take part in literature, science, math, art, music, reading, writing, language arts, and creative arts. The program offers a preschool class, a Pre-K class, and a Junior Kindergarten class that all include these types of activities in different ways.
• Ages: 2½–6 years old
• Schedule: Half and full days, 3 or 5 days per week, with morning and/or aftercare available
The preschool class for ages 2½–4 includes activities that introduce literature, science, math, art, and music while building social, emotional, and communication skills. The Pre-K class for ages 4–5 includes activities that advance physical, social, emotional, cognitive, and communication development. The Junior Kindergarten class is for children who turn 5 years old between September 2 and December 31 and miss the public kindergarten cut-off date, and it includes activities in science, math, reading, writing, language arts, creative arts, and Bible.
The mission statement of Capo Beach Church Preschool is to put children in touch with God by introducing His love through the instruction of His word, the B-I-B-L-E. The program focuses on fostering a positive relationship with God, friends, and teachers so students become lovers of Christ, leaders among their peers, and joyful learners. CBC Preschool serves families in the demographic areas of San Clemente, Dana Point, Capo Beach, San Juan Capistrano, Laguna Niguel, and Mission Viejo.
Requirements for staff include proper education, training, and experience, along with a passion for teaching young children. Each teacher may offer unique skills such as teaching Spanish or playing the guitar. The preschool maintains low student-to-teacher ratios so that every child receives a loving and nurturing experience. The leadership team includes Preschool Director Jordan Wolf and teachers Natasha Wetzel, Jessica Dawson, Heather Watson, and Kat Sadler.
