KidStrong Carlsbad uses a curriculum built around science-based training that focuses on strong bodies, strong minds, and strong character. The curriculum combines physical activity, cognitive development, and life skills and is organized around three pillars: Character, Physical, and Cognitive. Programming is specifically designed by child development experts to improve kids' emotional, mental, and physical skills, and every session includes physical, mental, and character development. Activities such as obstacle courses, warm-ups, and skill development are used to promote balance, coordination, strength, agility, and complex skills that stimulate brain function and enhance cognitive development. Puzzles, games, and mental challenges are included to support creativity, problem solving, and mental development, and kids learn to compete through games like tug of war and tire flips. Classes are developmentally appropriate, fun, and challenging, and kids can rank up, unlock new responsibilities, and celebrate progress along the way.
Parents join class on the floor with kids under 4 years old, and students practice introducing themselves by shaking hands, making eye contact, and saying their name. Warm-ups and skill development are combined into a foundational block practiced every week, and physical activity is blended with character and cognitive coaching through obstacle courses and challenges. Skill mastery is developed through repeated training and testing, and fun, coach-led games are designed to build confidence, resilience, teamwork, mental toughness, and sportsmanship.
KidStrong Carlsbad reports that 85% of parents say KidStrong is more fun than other programs their kids have tried, 88% of parents notice meaningful social skills improvement in their child after KidStrong, and 96% of kids show a noticeable increase in self-confidence after joining KidStrong.
