About
Classes at Sacramento Fine Arts Center offers Painting with Paper, Acrylics, Studio Painting, Oil Painting, Beginning Drawing, Portraits & the Human Form, Landscape Painting - Oil & Soft Pastel, and Watercolor. Painting with Paper is a mixed media/collage class with all supplies included, Oil Painting is offered for beginners and more experienced students, and Studio Painting is open to all skill levels and types of paint.
Programs
- Painting with Paper — mature teens allowed · 1-2 times a month, Friday, 1-4 pm · Mixed media/collage class. All supplies included. Please RSVP to reserve your seat.
- Acrylics — Saturday, 1-3 pm · Carol Hawkins teaches acrylic and mixed media classes.
- Studio Painting — Tuesdays, 10 am-1 pm · $150 per month · Open to all skill levels and types of paint.
- Oil Painting — mature teens allowed · Weds, 1-3:30 pm, 6 sessions · Beginners and more experienced students. Materials not included.
- Beginning Drawing — Sundays, 1:00 PM-3:00 PM, six-week course · $240 · Six-week course.
- Portraits & the Human Form — Wednesdays, 10 am-1 pm · $150 per month · Weekly class with demonstration and personal assistance.
- Landscape Painting - Oil & Soft Pastel — adults only · Monday, 1-3:30 pm, 2x monthly · Basic drawing and painting skills are needed. This is not a class for beginners.
- Watercolor — Thursdays, 1-3 PM, 4 sessions · Skill building, techniques and color theory.
- Watercolor — Thursdays, 3:45-5 PM, 4 sessions · Skill building, techniques and color theory.

About the provider
Classes at Sacramento Fine Arts Center was founded in 1986. It is a California nonprofit corporation, authorized under IRC sections 501C3, and its mission is to encourage the creation and presentation of original visual arts, support the cultural life of the community, and encourage all artists to fulfill their potential. Its community involvement includes inclusion of all artists and the promotion of racial equity through its activities.
