About
Art Classes at Sacramento Fine Arts Center include art classes, workshops, and multiple open studio sessions held daily. The program offers time to paint from a live model, as well as a Tuesday evening “Hang Out and Do Art” session where participants can do their own projects.
• Schedule: Studio open Friday mornings for painting from a live model; “Hang Out and Do Art” open studio on Tuesdays from 4–9pm; galleries and gift shop open Tuesday–Friday 11am–3pm and Saturday 11am–5pm.
The Sacramento Fine Arts Center was founded in 1986 as a California nonprofit corporation. Its mission is to encourage the creation and presentation of original visual arts, to support the cultural life of the community, and to encourage all artists to fulfill their potential. The center hosts over two dozen juried, group, and solo exhibitions per year, with exhibitions changing every two to four weeks and featuring local and international artists. Multiple classes and open studio sessions are held daily, and several workshops from national artists take place throughout the year. Volunteer roles, including gallery docent positions and team work on exhibitions and fundraising events, are available and connect participants with a network of hundreds of artists. The center has four galleries, a large studio, and a gift shop where items are hand crafted by local artists, with inventory that regularly changes. The gift shop is open during office hours and features original art and crafts by local artists, and guests are always welcome.
