About
Nike Baseball Camp Sacramento Athletic Center offers a four-day baseball camp where players work on hitting, fielding, throwing, and base-running. Campers also take part in warm-up routines and arm care routines as part of their daily baseball instruction. The program includes an all-around skills focus with daily emphasis on fundamental development, with players grouped by age, ability, and experience at the director’s discretion.
• Ages: 6–13 years old
• Schedule: 4-day camp, Monday–Thursday, 9:00am–2:00pm (July 20–23, 2026); check-in is 30 minutes before the camp start time
• Price: $349 for the 4-day camp (includes all fees); spot can be secured for as low as $100, valid through April 4th at 11:59pm PT
The camp is led by Camp Director Preston Vancil, the current pitching coach at Cosumnes River College, who has experience as a college player at American River College and Abilene Christian University, a five-year professional playing career including time in the Seattle Mariners organization, three seasons of professional coaching with the Southern Illinois Miners, and 11 seasons as Pitching/Associate Head Baseball Coach at American River College. Additional instruction is provided by Karsten Vasquez, who played at Sacramento City College and the University of Arkansas – Pine Bluff and is working toward a doctorate in Sports and Performance Psychology while coaching and giving lessons; by Paul Von Zboray, who played at American River College, Clarke University, and in professional baseball as an All Star and works with hitters, catchers, and pitchers; and by Trevor Arnston, who has pitched for Sacramento City College, University of Antelope Valley, and William Jessup University and has three years of coaching experience at Sacramento Sport Center. The staff maintains a 1:10 staff-to-camper ratio, and campers are supervised by staff during camp hours.
Camp features include a Nike Baseball Camp T-shirt and other prizes, professional instruction from Preston Vancil and staff, and low camper-to-coach ratios. The mission of the camp is to offer a four-day baseball camp that focuses on sharpening skills, staying active, building confidence, reinforcing strong mechanics, and helping players prepare for the upcoming season. Parent reviews mention the enthusiasm of the coaches, that players learned new things and learned a lot in four days, that campers had fun and came home smiling, that the coaches at SSC were described as “the best,” and that the camp was organized and directed in a “fantastic” way.
US Sports Camps does not provide equipment and is not responsible for lost or stolen items or money. Suggested items to bring include a small gym bag or backpack, athletic clothing such as a t-shirt, shorts, and baseball pants, a warm-up jacket, hat, sneakers, baseball glove, bat, helmet, catcher’s gear if needed, sunscreen, a water bottle, and a packed lunch and snacks.
