Gallegos Jiu Jitsu offers training in self-defense, Jiu Jitsu, Muay Thai, and MMA. The program also includes cold-plunge recovery as part of its activities. The facility is described as a top notch facility with all students need to succeed.
Gallegos BJJ has been serving the South Bay San Diego County community for over 10 years. The program states that it strives to create a safe, positive, enjoyable environment for all students to train in, no matter age, gender, or physical ability. Practical mental and physical wellness support is offered through martial arts, cold-plunge recovery, and small group sessions.
The leadership is headed by Elias Gallegos, a pastor, public speaker, community leader, and 5th-degree Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt with over 30 years of martial arts experience and more than 15 years leading Gallegos Jiu-Jitsu HQ / Alliance Eastlake Foundation. He is a three-time IBJJF No-Gi World medalist. Jiu Jitsu instructors include black belts Cosmo Ra, Chiles, Aaron Mitchem, Wade Ship, Tarsis Humphreys, Marcos Lopes, and Ricardo Rea. Muay Thai instructors include Wade Ship, Daniel Rhoades, and Frank Salgado. The instructors provide years of real world experience, and each instructor has a rich background in the Jiu Jitsu industry.
Through the Alliance Eastlake Foundation, Gallegos BJJ provides programs for at-risk youth and combat veterans with PTSD. Free training for law enforcement officers is provided through 2025. Men’s Life Groups, women’s identity groups, and teen mentorship programs are also offered. The Alliance Eastlake Foundation states that it brings hope, health, and healing to the Chula Vista community and beyond.
Gallegos BJJ has received the KUSI San Diego “Community Leader” Award in 2025 and the Chula Vista Champion Award. The program highlights a Beginner Special and a free trial. It emphasizes a focus on self-defense first, instructing law enforcement and everyday people. The program describes a community emphasis with an all-star staff, a welcoming environment, and dedicated students.
