San Diego Learning Center

San Diego Learning Center offers Early Reading, Reading Foundations, Elements of Writing, Enriched Math, Math Skills, Test Prep, Homework Support, Study Skills, GED, EPT/ELM, Intellectual & Developmental Disability Program, and Independent Living Skills. The program provides individualized instruction starting at the Pre-K level and continuing through high school and college level courses, and new students are evaluated with an individualized diagnostic assessment before a personalized program is tailored to their needs.

Programs

• Early Reading — Designed for the beginning reader; targets phonemic awareness, decoding and word recognition, vocabulary development and comprehension skills.
• Reading Foundations — Provides explicit instruction on core vocabulary and comprehension skills and progresses to advanced critical thinking.
• Elements of Writing — Focuses on developing and improving mechanics of writing and composition skills.
• Enriched Math — Designed to develop strong conceptual knowledge, computation skills and problem-solving abilities; covers basic material through the eighth grade level.
• Math Skills — Broad-based mathematics program with areas including Algebra, Geometry, Integrated Math levels, Pre-Calculus, and Calculus.
• Test Prep — Preparation for SAT, ACT, GED, High School Exit Exam (CAHSEE), Catholic High School Entrance Exam (HSPT), and Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE).
• Homework Support — Students work on homework with tutors who provide assistance in virtually all subject areas.
• Study Skills — Focuses on organization and time management, note-taking strategies, and test-taking strategies.
• GED — Designed to give a struggling student the skills necessary to pass the GED.
• EPT/ELM — Helps prepare for the EPT and/or ELM test upon entering a California State University (CSU).
• Intellectual & Developmental Disability Program — Social Skills Development & Recreation program designed to support students in gaining essential life and social skills.
• Independent Living Skills
