Sweetwater Authority Education Programs includes the "Being Water Wise Is..." Poster Contest for K-6 students, the High School Photo Contest for high school students, the Mini-grant Program, Hydro Station for fifth-grade students, Olivewood Gardens & Learning Center, Thrively, the Living Coast Discovery Center, San Diego County Office of Education's Splash Lab & Green Machine, and the Be WaterSmart Workbook for elementary students. The offerings include water-related art, a photo contest, support for water-related curriculum and education costs, learning about careers in the water industry, water education content on an online platform, interactive exhibit and wildlife and science programs, mobile science labs, and a free workbook in digital and print versions.

- "Being Water Wise Is..." Poster Contest — K-6 students · Gives K-6 students the chance to demonstrate how water is a precious and essential resource by creating water-related art and enhancing their understanding of the importance of water.
- High School Photo Contest — High School students · Challenges students to creatively showcase and celebrate the way water supports and enhances daily lives.
- Mini-grant Program — Designed to support and enhance a variety of water-related curriculum and education opportunities by helping offset program/material costs.
- Hydro Station — fifth-grade students · A partnership learning experience that teaches students about careers and opportunities in the water industry.
- Olivewood Gardens & Learning Center — National School District students · Sweetwater Authority supports Olivewood’s educational and outreach efforts that promote the safety, value, and efficiency of tap water.
- Thrively — students · Water education content on an online educational platform that teaches students based on their strengths and interests.
- Living Coast Discovery Center — Interactive exhibit and wildlife and science programs about the wildlife and water quality of the Sweetwater River watershed.
- San Diego County Office of Education's Splash Lab & Green Machine — students · Mobile science labs that teach students about water, healthy watersheds and the environment.
- Be WaterSmart Workbook — elementary students · Free education workbook available in digital and print (PDF) versions. Learn about the water cycle, county water supplies, water-use efficiency, and more.

Sweetwater Authority says it invests in the education of students in its service area to foster knowledge and appreciation for the value of water and to bring awareness to the vital service the Authority provides to its customers and community. Community partnerships include Chula Vista Elementary School District, Otay Water District, Olivewood Gardens and Learning Center, Living Coast Discovery Center, and San Diego County Office of Education's Splash Lab & Green Machine. All programs at the Living Coast Discovery Center are available in English and Spanish.
