Mountain Lake Chess Camp offers scholastic chess tournaments, summer camps, after-school chess programs, private chess lessons, and online classes. The program continues to provide private chess lessons for all levels.

Mountain Lake Chess Camp was founded in 1992 by International Master Larry Evans. It was originally founded to help train his son Cory, who is described as a 5 year old Chess Master and The First Camper, and who later became a US scholastic Chess Champion. Mountain Lake Chess Camp notes that this is its 33rd great year. The company has sponsored scholastic chess tournaments, and its summer camps have been attended by some of the best players in the world. Mountain Lake has established after-school chess programs in over 60 public and private schools in the San Diego area. Notable alumni include International Master Craig Hilby, 2022 U.S. Chess Champion International Grandmaster Fabiano Caruana, and U.S. 5th Grade Champion International Master Alexander Costello.
