The Preschool offers a vibrant, play-based community where hands-on learning, exploration, and imagination guide each day. Children engage with interactive learning centers in uniquely designed indoor and outdoor play environments, including natural outdoor spaces. The program serves children from ages 2 through an enriched TK program.

Founded in 1963 by parents wanting a quality education for their children, The Preschool operates as a non-profit parent participation preschool. The program is a developmental program that nurtures the social-emotional, physical, cognitive, and creative development of each child. The Preschool is committed to creating an environment where families can be involved in their children's education and to building a strong relationship with the whole family through support and partnership. The Preschool is an interracial, non-sectarian parent participation preschool. The Program Director is Jeri Bollman, M.S. The mission of The Preschool includes providing a loving and nurturing environment for children, parents, and staff in which they can experience love, trust, acceptance, and achievement, and is based on the belief that all children are unique and develop an understanding of the world and themselves in age-appropriate play, both planned and spontaneous. The parent participation aspect of the program includes opportunities to increase knowledge and skills as a parent and to build a caring community within the preschool.
