Over the last 11 years, All Out Sports League (AOSL) has become one of the fastest growing youth organizations in California. Blaze Travel Ball is sponsored by Under Armour and is part of AOSL’s travel and competitive academy programs. The stated mission is to be the premier travel and competitive academy in the country, providing what it describes as the highest quality coaching and training to committed athletes. AOSL reports that its basketball camps and leagues have emphasized lessons such as sportsmanship, teamwork, and winning and losing with grace.
The program notes that Blaze coaches are committed to the success of each child on and off the court and that the coaching staff has a vested interest in each child. It states that winning is described as nice, but the goals are to teach proper fundamentals, with a belief that this will result in more victories. The program also states that it uses sports as a vehicle to teach life lessons and wants players prepared for life after sports. According to the program, the majority of its players will compete at the high school level and possibly beyond, and one of its goals is to prepare them for high school tryouts and to make the team.
Blaze Travel Ball reports that its players train and play in safe indoor facilities and that it takes training seriously, aiming to provide facilities for players to become better athletes. It states that it provides a structured training environment and training facilities geared to develop team success as well as individual player growth. The program describes itself as extremely organized and serious about preparation, training, and competing, and it aims to field quality competitive teams, play at least two quality tournaments per month, and be nationally recognized at every level.
The organization states that it strives to help players achieve maximum potential to create opportunities beyond travel ball and to be the number one club where kids can play, compete at a high level, and gain what it describes as valuable life skills. Team colors are listed as scarlet, black, and grey. The program expects parents, players, and coaches to be committed to each practice, game, fundraising effort, and a code of conduct. AOSL reports that over 3000 children participate annually in its programs and that it will continue giving back to communities and providing scholarships to individuals who cannot afford to play in its leagues.
