Mad About Science is a week-long event where students take part in hands-on activities such as building bridges, launching rockets, creating slime, and making lava lamps. The program is hosted by the Tuolumne County Superintendent of Schools (TCSOS). Mad About Science aims to foster a love for STEM subjects and inspire students’ curiosity in the world around them.

Mad About Science is hosted by TCSOS and is open to students entering 4th–9th grade during the 2024–2025 school year who reside in Tuolumne County. Space is limited, and acceptance is on a first-come, first-served basis, with additional registrants placed on a waiting list. TCSOS partners with local schools and the community to support quality education for 5,686 students in Tuolumne County and several thousand more in regional programs throughout the state.
