Safari Learning Academy

Safari Learning Academy offers a range of activities that include math, art, music, science, social studies, resource conservation, cooking and nutrition, sensory motor experiences, physical education, and grooming and self-care. The program uses the Zoo-phonics Multisensory Language Arts Program, which integrates phonological awareness, the alphabet, print information, and oral language with multiple subject areas. Safari Learning has a waiting list to enroll and includes a Preschool, Transitional Kindergarten, and Kindergarten–1st Grade Academy.

At Safari Learning, the stated mission is that young learners need access to open-ended materials and equipment that stimulate thought, play, analysis, evaluation, oral language, cooperation, interaction, and fun. The curriculum is described as unique, innovative, and integrated, and it aligns with principles for developmental learning as established by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). Best teaching practices based on well-established and rigorous research guide curriculum choices and approaches, and a print-rich environment is used to support understanding of oral and written language and future learning. The program also emphasizes fantasy, imagination, and fun, promoting giggles and movement while “Using the Wild to Teach the Child… to discover, play, enjoy and learn.”
