ELEVATE Basketball & Performance Training has been serving the Concord community for over 10 years and states a mission to deliver basketball training for athletes of all levels in a positive and encouraging environment that promotes growth on and off the court. The program notes that its AAU teams emphasize skill development, teamwork, and a positive coaching environment, and that it has a goal to be a no cut program that is inclusive. For birthday parties, the standard package accommodates 15 kids, families can bring their own food, drinks, and decorations, and ELEVATE handles the setup of tables and chairs, with full access to the entire gym and no outside groups during the party. The gym can also be rented for private runs, and coaches are paid for their time, energy, effort, and organization, with many coaches also coaching at the high school level and having years of experience in youth basketball.
Founder and Head Trainer Jim Croy has been coaching and training athletes in basketball since 1998, was a two-time league MVP and three-time 1st Team All League player at Northgate, holds multiple school records in points, rebounds, and free throws, ranks first in career rebounding and second in career points, played at Division 1 Cal Poly and Westmont College, and was named Defensive Player of the Year at Westmont; he has been inducted into the Northgate Hall of Fame. Master Skills Trainer Kendall Holmes was a decorated player at Ygnacio Valley High School, Diablo Valley Junior College, and Fresno Pacific University, and has coached AAU teams for ELEVATE as well as high school boys and girls teams in the Bay Area. Master Skills Trainer Cameron “Cam Curry” specializes in working with guards and perimeter players and is on staff for the boys’ program at Acalanes.
