About
Friday Night Lights Youth Flag Football - Corona offers youth flag football and cheer. The program includes boys and all-girls flag football divisions for grades K–8th and cheer that practices weekly and performs at specific game times.
• Ages: 5–13 years old
• Schedule: Flag football seasons run mid-February to late May in spring and September to November in fall, with games on Thursdays and Fridays, only one practice per week, and all games 50 minutes long. Cheer practices on Tuesdays at 6pm, with a season from August to November, cheering for 6pm games only and not cheering during playoffs.
• Price: New cheer registration fee: $320. Returning cheer registration fee: $200.
The program uses professional, paid game officials. Games are played 6 vs 6 with 8–9 players per team, and everyone plays in 3 out of 4 quarters. There are 8 games plus playoffs (excluding kinder), with five divisions based on grade: Pre K/K, 1/2, 3/4, 5/6, and 7/8, and girls-only divisions at all levels. Families can form their own team or have players assigned, and the program allows kids to play with friends, neighbors, and classmates. The organization states its mission as “BEST YOUTH SPORTS EXPERIENCE YOU WILL EVER HAVE” and notes that 35,000 kids play FNL football each year.
The program highlights that it is non-contact with the note “NO CONTACT = FEWER INJURIES.” It lists past TOC champions, including 5/6 Colorado coached by Scott Janoski and 1/2 Washington coached by Mario Valenzuela. Friday Night Lights Youth Flag Football - Corona indicates that volunteer coaches are always needed and that spring 2026 coaches are needed, with many listed perks for FNL head coaches, including choosing practice day, time, and location, selecting an assistant coach, identifying players for their team, working with the league on game times to avoid conflicts, and receiving training. The program also notes that fall 2026 registration begins May 1st.
Corona FNL’s refund policy states that refund requests must be received in writing by Jan. 1st for the spring season, June 15th for the summer season, and July 1st for the fall season, and that after these dates refunds will not be issued and third-party admin and credit card charges cannot be refunded. The program also states that FNL referees are needed and are paid to train, with pay for a referee meeting and preseason training, and that referee jerseys, hats, whistles, penalty flags, stop watches, and similar items are provided.
