About

Epic Cooking School offers cooking classes, baking classes, summer camps, birthday parties, private events and parties, and cooking and baking parties. Weeklong camps are described as an intensive culinary experience where students gather together to learn essential cooking techniques, using simple yet sophisticated kid-friendly menus that can be recreated at home and that change daily, often following a global theme. Classes are limited to eight students, and all students must be in 3rd grade or above to participate unless otherwise noted.

• Ages: 8–18 years old
• Schedule: Weeklong camps

Epic Cooking School states its mission as “Creating Lifelong Chefs.” Programs are described as accommodating both novice chefs and avid home cooks looking to master new techniques, with a relaxed, friendly, and fun teaching style that includes theory, demonstration, and hands-on participation. Cooking and baking parties are recommended for children ages 6–18. Epic Cooking School reserves the right to cancel or reschedule classes if there are fewer than four students enrolled.

Epic Cooking School has been serving over 1500 families in its fourteen years of operation and notes that Epic Bakery Cookies eventually became Epic Cooking School classes and has now become a cooking and baking school in Marin County. The school is led by Elizabeth Love, who received a Master’s degree in Child Development from Loyola University, Chicago, and a Pastry Degree from Tante Marie Cooking School in San Francisco in 2010. The program notes that it engages chefs in the kitchen and shares kitchen wisdom that will stay with them for a lifetime.

Epic Bakery Cookies expanded to other local surf shops and establishments. One parent from Corte Madera reports that her child “loved cooking with Elizabeth” and described the meal as “insanely delicious.” Another parent from Mill Valley describes a child with no prior experience who came home “happy and excited to share the meal he created” after the first class and mentions many Epic Cooking School family meals that followed. A parent from Larkspur gives “Two wooden spoons UP for baking and cooking with Elizabeth,” and another Mill Valley parent describes the classes as hands-on and says the class gives kids life skills, confidence, and a greater interest and curiosity to try new foods, and highly recommends Epic Cooking School.
