Junior and Teen Players commit to twice-weekly classes for the year, work toward staging a fully produced show for two weekends of public performances, and are supported by professional directors, designers, stage crew, and SCR staff.
For more than five decades, the Theatre Conservatory and its staff of professional working artists have been an integral part of South Coast Repertory, which is described as Orange County’s Tony Award-winning theatre. The program is led by Conservatory Director Hisa Takakuwa. SCR states that it offers a safe and welcoming environment for children to build self-confidence, communication skills and creativity, and that the goals of the Theatre Conservatory include laying a strong training foundation and enriching the lives of all its students.
