Fred Endert Municipal Pool Starfish Swim Lessons offers group swim lessons, individual swim lessons, StarBabies and StarTots swim lessons, Pre-Swim School classes (Jellyfish, Otter, Porpoise), Starfish Swim School, and Starfish Stroke School. All age groups in the program use five colored levels—White, Red, Yellow, Blue, and Green—with White and Red as beginner stages and Green as the endurance stage. In Pre-Swim School, Jellyfish, Otter, and Porpoise animal stages are used to divide students into broad ability groups, and Pre-Swim School Otters must tread water to move to Porpoise.

• Schedule: Star Babies/Tots for ages 6 months–3 years are offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:35–5:05 PM in Winter Sessions (December 5–21, January 9–25, February 6–22) and Spring Sessions (April 9–25, May 7–23)
• Price: Individual lessons per 55-minute session cost $35.00 for 1 student and $45.00 for 2 students; per 25-minute session cost $20.00 for 1 student and $35.00 for 2 students. Child/Youth group lesson prices are $6.50 drop-in for Star Babies/Tots 6 months–3 years (no preregistration required, class limit 6 parent–child pairs), $35.00 for Star Babies/Tots 6 months–3 years, $48.00 for Pre-school 4–6 years, and $45.00 for Youth 6–17 years.
The purpose of STARBABIES and STARTOTS for ages 6 months to 3 1/2 years is to foster in very young children a high comfort level in the water while at the same time training parents and caregivers in water safety and drowning prevention. Parents are only required for StarBabies and StarTots, and no preregistration is required for the $6.50 drop-in Star Babies/Tots class, which is limited to 6 parent–child pairs. Children in the program progress at individual rates with self-paced but challenging learning. Starfish Stroke School refines freestyle at the White Level and teaches stroke technique for backstroke at the Red Level, butterfly at the Yellow Level, and breaststroke at the Blue Level. Free group swim lessons are sponsored and provided by the Del Norte Healthcare District, and free swimming lessons are offered to group lessons only. The program uses staggered registration dates for each class to take place on different days, and participants must wait one round of group lessons before enrolling again after participating in a session. Parents are only required for StarBabies and StarTots. The program lists Relief Supervisor William Morris in its leadership.
