Michelle's Dance Academy was founded by professional ballerina and teacher Michelle DeAngelis. The studio’s mission is to provide students with a safe environment to express themselves through artistry and creative movement and to inspire a lasting love and appreciation for dance for the younger generation. The program was founded with the intention of creating and nurturing a community of people who share a common love of movement and dance. Founder, director, and teacher Michelle DeAngelis has taught ballet professionally for over eight years in various places throughout the United States and trained at the Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis School at American Ballet Theatre, School of American Ballet, Princeton Ballet School, and Ballet Central New Jersey, and has danced professionally with Montgomery Ballet, Virginia National Ballet, American Contemporary Ballet as a soloist, and Ballet Project Orange County. Studio manager and teacher Marion Maclou spent over 13 years at USC Dance Academy studying jazz, modern jazz, hip hop, and contemporary, later pursued a bachelor’s degree in arts, and is a member of the dance company VASHT. Kristin Steckman has professional ballet experience with Richmond Ballet and American Contemporary Ballet and has taught in the Richmond Ballet's Children's Division. Lydia McDonald holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance from the University of North Texas and has danced with imPULSE Dance Project and Ad Deum Dance 2nd company. Annabel Macdonald completed professional training at the Washington School of Ballet and other major schools and graduated from USC with degrees in business and communication. Claire Bednarek graduated cum laude from Butler University with a BA in Dance Pedagogy. Carina Brunstein attended The Boston Conservatory at Berklee and graduated summa cum laude in 2025 with a B.F.A. in Commercial Dance.
