About
Westdale Culver City Soccer Day Camp focuses on soccer skills including dribbling, passing, shooting, tackling, trapping, and goalkeeping. Campers take part in friendly matches, games and game-like scenarios, and challenging exercises that emphasize ball control technique. All activities are run through games and play.

• Schedule: Two 5-day sessions with all-day, half-day, and single-day options; camp hours vary from 9:00 am – 2:30 pm or 9:00 am – 12:30 pm, with early drop off and late pick up available

Westdale Culver City Soccer Day Camp has roots going back to its predecessor’s early beginnings in the 1980s. The camp’s stated priorities are safety, fun, and development, with exposure to foundational and advanced dribbling, passing, shooting, tackling, and trapping, and a special emphasis on ball control technique through games and play. Summer camps focus on all-around skill development with a curriculum by certified coaches that includes individual technique, team play, and attacking and defensive positioning through game play. The camp is geared to making campers’ fall soccer seasons a more meaningful and enjoyable experience for first-time AYSO players and experienced Club-level campers, with campers grouped by size and skill and friend requests considered.
Director Dan is licensed by United States Soccer, certified in coaching by the National Federation of State High Schools (NFHS), and serves as coach and director of Westdale Culver City Soccer Camp and head coach for the LA Center for Enriched Studies (LACES) Boys’ Varsity Soccer Team. Coach Jason is a licensed CTE Sport Medicine Instructor and is the Head Athletic Trainer at Venice High School. The leadership team also includes Coach KB, who leads technical program development, along with Coach Senay, Coach Eli, Youth Coach Charley, and Youth Coach Leo. Coaches have experience across AYSO, Club, High School, and College soccer for both boys and girls, and many are described as “homegrown soccer stars” who started their careers with Westdale Soccer Camp in the 1990s. The camp targets a 7:1 camper-to-coach ratio, and enrollment is limited with sessions that fill up quickly.
As part of the camp’s commitment to hiring and developing local talent, Youth Coach Charley is a key player for the Venice High School Varsity Girls Team and a defender for the Autobahn Soccer Club. The camp states that there are no “Lines, Laps or Lectures,” and that learning is facilitated through games and game-like scenarios. Campers from AYSO to Club level are grouped by ability so they can work on enhancing their soccer abilities while connecting with fellow campers.
