Young Illustrators is led by Machiko and Brandon, a husband and wife team. The program takes place at Machiko Music, LLC studio and notes that August Summer Camps spots are open. The mission statement for the program is: “We foster a lifelong love of the arts. Our goal is to empower students to excel in their artistic pursuits and gain confidence through the limitless potential of each individual. We cultivate an environment that embraces joy, peace, and culture through personal growth.” The program serves families in Culver City, Santa Monica, and Los Angeles.
Parent feedback about Machiko’s teaching includes comments that she is “gentle, patient, and kind,” and that one child “looks forward to her piano class every week” and goes to the piano at home on her own. Another parent reports that a child has begun sitting at the piano daily at home “without my having to nag him to sit down and practice,” and credits Machiko with the child’s “newfound enthusiasm.” A third parent notes that their daughter “has gained a lot of confidence” and describes Machiko as having “a very warm and calm soul that helps to motivate the learning process of piano,” and says they would “definately recommend her to anyone looking to learn music.”
