La Playa Cooperative Nursery School has been operating since 1948. The school says it creates an educational atmosphere with programs intended to empower students to tackle challenges and try experiences that may be new to them. It also emphasizes play, social-emotional development, and parent education. The school is a cooperative community where parents volunteer alongside children and teachers each week, and parents attend a monthly seminar with childhood experts. It was named Best Private School in the Best of Culver City/West LA Awards from Westside Today.

Located in Culver City and housed in Culver City’s Stone House in Lindberg Park. Tours are offered every other Wednesday and Thursday at 10:30 am. The school states it is one of the longest-running cooperative preschools in the nation.
