• Ages: 2–6 years old
• Schedule: AM (9am–12pm), PM (1pm–4pm), and Full School Day (9am–4pm) options, with extended care available until 5pm
Villa Montessori School was founded by a group of parents from the University of Santa Clara and San Jose State University in 1964, and it was incorporated as a non-profit in 1965. In 1975, the school consolidated to one campus in Cupertino, later moved to the West Valley Elementary School campus in Sunnyvale in 2021, and then moved to its current Cupertino campus in 2024. Villa Montessori has served the community for over sixty years, and its alumni have gone on to become contributors to society worldwide.
The Villa Montessori program is designed to enhance and guide each child’s spontaneous and natural desire to learn during the most sensitive years of life and encourages independent, self-directed achievement. The program’s primary goal is to help each child reach his or her potential in all areas of development, promoting the development of social skills, emotional growth, physical coordination, and cognitive preparation through its activities and materials. Villa provides a rich and varied program for children from 2 years and 5 months old until entry into first grade and focuses on strong fundamental academic preparation in language arts, science, mathematics, music, and coordination. Villa Montessori is a non-profit, non-sectarian program that encourages independent, self-directed achievement and provides a comprehensive education based on Montessori principles and methods.
Villa aims for a 1:8 teacher-to-student ratio, which is lower than the 1:12 ratio mandated by California law, and its Montessori credentialed teachers lead the classrooms. Villa Montessori School is an American Montessori Society Full Member School and is affiliated with the North American Montessori Teachers Association.
