About
The AYSO EPIC Soccer Program offers soccer for players with disabilities. Players are placed on teams, and a volunteer buddy plays with or next to each player during soccer activities. This registration is for the AYSO EPIC program, which is a different program than the Open Recreation Soccer Program. Fee includes a jersey, socks, shorts, and insurance. AYSO has rebranded its VIP Program to EPIC, which stands for Everyone Plays In our Community.
• Ages: 4–18 years old
• Schedule: 10 week program running in Fall and Spring each year on Sunday afternoons
• Price: Total Fee is $75 -- $50 for South Bay EPIC AYSO Soccer -- $25 for annual AYSO National Fee (valid from Aug 2026 - Jul 2027). The total registration fee is non-refundable.
The mission of the AYSO EPIC Program is to provide players with disabilities the additional support they need to fully participate in a quality soccer experience. The ultimate goal of the AYSO EPIC Program is to provide a holistic AYSO experience for players, families, and volunteers, from team uniforms, to playing on a team, to cheering from the sidelines, for all participants. AYSO invites kids from all around the Bay Area to participate in this inclusive program for kids with challenges in areas such as cognitive or development, vision, sensory, deafness or hard of hearing, speech or communication, and mobility.
EPIC Coaches and EPIC Buddies take common courses including fingerprinting, Risk Status (background check), and Safe Haven. EPIC Buddies also take the EPIC Buddy Training online course. EPIC Coaches also take SafeSport, Sudden Cardiac Arrest, Concussion Awareness, EPIC Volunteer Training online course, and at a minimum the 6U Coach Course online, but ideally the 10U Coach Course, which is half online and half an in-person field session.
