About
California Junior Lifeguards focuses on first-aid, CPR, ocean safety, rescue techniques, and surf skills. Participants also take part in bodyboarding, fun beach activities, fun aquatic activities, and dry land activities. The program includes a 2-Week Advanced Training Program for motivated young athletes ready to level up their Jr. Guard readiness.

California Junior Lifeguards offers Junior Guards for ages 8–17, Mini Junior Guards for ages 5–7, Back Bay Camp for ages 6–12, and Back Bay JG Elites for ages 8–15. The program is in its 35th anniversary season. Its stated mission is that California Junior Lifeguards provides youth with vital ocean safety, lifesaving techniques, and surf skills to develop strong, confident leaders in a fun, safe, beach environment. One of its unique features is the chance to master ocean safety, rescue techniques, and leadership skills in an action-packed summer experience.
