About the provider
Girl in the Curl came to life in 1997. The founder is Mary Hartmann, and she first caught her first wave at Doheny State Beach in 1970. The program includes ocean awareness education, surf etiquette, the history of surfing, tides, general ocean safety, sea life education, trash pickups, and promotion of reduce, reuse, and recycle.
All lessons are held at Doheny State Beach. ALL instructors are trained in CPR, First Aid, Water Safety, and most importantly FUN. Parking is $15 per day or $2 an hour pay box.
