USSD Dana Point Karate offers Kempo Karate in both group and private karate training settings. Students take karate lessons that include self-defense skills and sparring, using the United Studios of Self Defense system that incorporates Shaolin Kung Fu, Japanese Karate, and the takedown and grappling arts of Jiujitsu. The program includes sparring classes organized by age group.

• Schedule: Class options Monday through Thursday afternoons and evenings, Friday afternoons and evenings, and Saturday mornings and early afternoons, with earlier private karate lessons available by appointment only
USSD Dana Point Karate offers separate Tiny Tigers classes for ages 4–6, Young Dragons classes for ages 7–12, and Teens & Adults classes for ages 13 and up, with specific class times on weekdays and sparring classes on Saturdays for each age group. The program has been serving the community and Orange County, California, with martial arts training for over 30 years, and United Studios of Self Defense was founded in 1968. The leadership team includes Sensei Mike Giannicchi, Owner and Chief Instructor and 4th Degree Black Belt with over 34 years of martial arts experience and nearly three decades as an instructor, and Sensei Mel, Assistant Instructor who earned a black belt in Shotokan Karate.
At USSD Dana Point Karate, karate lessons go beyond self-defense techniques and focus on building confidence, flexibility, strength, focus, discipline, and character, using a foundation of traditional values with a modern-day approach to self-defense and personal development. USSD Dana Point welcomes men, women, and children of all ages and professions to participate in private and group training programs in an inclusive, welcoming environment that attracts students of all ages. The program offers Kempo Karate for all ages, a free trial to get started, and accepts charter school funds as an approved vendor for homeschool families. The USSD logo core is the Bonsai tree, which symbolizes wisdom, adaptability, strength, character, truth, and longevity.
