Tassajara Learning Center

Tassajara Learning Center offers play-based activities that include Zoo-phonics, STEAM investigations, yoga, dance, art, music, dramatic play, cooking, and baking. Children take part in activities in learning centers dedicated to blocks, manipulatives, math, science, art, and self-reflection, and use a kitchen for baking and making. The program uses play-based activities scaffolded by the Creative Curriculum, blended with Zoo-phonics for early literacy, and includes a Kindness Curriculum for social and emotional development.

Tassajara Learning Center offers preschool programs for ages 2–4 years, a Transitional Kindergarten (TK) program for ages 4–5 years, and an After-School Program for TK/Kindergarten for ages 4–6 years. The center is a purpose-built preschool and childcare program with pirate-themed playgrounds that include play houses, a wooden train, a bike path, spring riders, balance beams, and classroom lofts. The program maintains small groups below state-mandated teacher-to-student ratios, with a 1:7 ratio and maximum of 20 children in the 2’s program, and a 1:8 ratio and maximum of 24 children in the 3’s–5’s classrooms. Two healthy snacks are provided daily, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. Safety and cleanliness measures include secure entry, cameras, fenced play areas, recirculated air, and professional cleaners who sanitize every surface daily.

Every teacher at Tassajara Learning Center has completed at least 24 Early Childhood Education units, and many hold degrees and have over 20 years of classroom experience. Staff are CPR-certified. Ms. Lynn and Ms. Kristi designed the preschool experience, welcome families every day, and bring 35 years of experience as early childhood educators. The program states the mission, “Where Children Grow, Explore & Discover A Love Of Learning. An Early Learning Experience Designed By Early Educators & Moms. A Balanced Curriculum Prepares Your Child For School.” Tassajara Learning Center has been recognized as an award-winning preschool with BusinessRate’s Best of 2025. The program notes that it guarantees children will be ready for kindergarten.
