Surfight Kids is a program where children train in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Judo in a high level, ocean-inspired Jiu Jitsu environment. The program also includes Open Mat time and Strength & Conditioning as part of the overall training offered at Surfight. A free 1:1 intro class is offered specifically for the Surfight Kids program.
• Ages: 5–12 years old
• Schedule: Kids classes are offered Monday through Thursday from 3:30–4:30PM.
• Price: $229 / Month Kids; $40 / Class; $20 / Open Mat Drop In; Private lessons starting at $100.
Surfight was started by Joel Tudor and Magid Hage, who together bring over 30 years of experience in martial arts. Instructors include Magid Hage, a 3rd Degree Black Belt, ADCC & CJI Veteran, and Copa Pacifica Champion, and Joel Tudor, a 5th Degree Black Belt and ADCC Veteran who is described as the only surfing and jiu-jitsu world champion in both sports. The program follows a mission of “No frills, no easy rounds. Fun, safe, and disciplined classes that teach confidence, focus, and respect.” Kids memberships include unlimited access, as well as skill progress tracking and belt advancement. Surfight allows a relaxed uniform policy where participants can wear any gi and train no-gi in boardshorts and a shirt, and for the first class, kids can bring athletic shorts and a t-shirt or rash guard. Memberships include a free intro session and consultation, there is no cancellation policy and no long term contract, and drop-ins are allowed from any school affiliation.
