Children’s Choice Preschool & Child Care Center offers activities that include art, music, dancing, science, technology, engineering, math, pre-reading, STEAM activities, and storytime. The program uses the Zoo-Phonics® curriculum as part of its pre-reading approach. Each classroom includes a library for children’s use.
• Ages: 0–16 years old
• Schedule: Open-day child care with hours that include 6:00 am to 6:00 pm and 6:45 am to 5:30 pm
Children’s Choice Preschool & Child Care Center has CPR-certified staff. The leadership team includes Jenni Grawvunder (Director and Vice President of Operations), Kate Yohe (Director), Diana Evangelista (Director), Karina Janco (Co-Director), and Vanessa Colemero (Director). The program includes class pets such as rabbits, bearded dragons, fish, iguanas, dogs, and chickens. Children receive healthy, home-cooked meals prepared in-house, with daily breakfast, lunch, and two nutritious snacks provided, and the program participates in the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP). Classrooms are professionally deep-cleaned daily, including carpets, walls, and floors, and toys are regularly sanitized. The program uses personalized lesson plans based on each child’s skill level, interests, and needs, and children are part of a mixed-age classroom community where smaller children learn from older children and bigger kids help care for and teach the younger ones. Parents can supervise field trips to locations such as a local splash pad or LEGOLand. Tuition support options are offered. Children’s Choice Preschool & Child Care Center has been voted El Cajon’s and Santee’s Best Choice in Childcare and New Business of the Year and voted Best Choice for Childcare by its communities. The program invites parents to community events such as neighborhood block parties, fundraisers, and fall festivals.
