About

Contra Costa Civic Theatre Youth Programs are part of Contra Costa Civic Theatre, which offers Pocket Theatre classes for children. These classes were described as a project unique to the area, with children getting onstage rather than only adults performing for children.

• Schedule: Box Office Hours Tuesday – Friday 4 pm to 6 pm and one hour before performances

Contra Costa Civic Theatre was born on November 1, 1959, with opening night on February 5, 1960, and later held a grand opening at its Pomona venue on July 23, 1971, after groundbreaking in March 1971. CCCT’s youth programs are described as award-winning. The organization’s community involvement has included Pocket Theatre classes for children, volunteers who were members of St. Patrick’s Episcopal Church in El Cerrito, and touring productions to Squaw Valley in 1962, Guerneville in 1964, and Budapest, Hungary, in 1993 for the production “Nunsense.” The leadership team includes Interim Managing Director Hanna Mesraty, Director of Education Alexandra Rivers, Marketing & Facilities Director Jen McFarlane, Box Office Manager Patrick Becerril, Production Manager Kristin Smith, Bookkeeper Maryjo Bruce, and a board and advisors with named members.
