Contra Costa Civic Theatre Youth Education & Drama Camp is part of Contra Costa Civic Theatre’s youth education offerings in live performing arts. The camp takes place within an organization that focuses on training in live performing arts for children and adults.

Contra Costa Civic Theatre has been El Cerrito’s community theatre since 1960. The organization’s mission is to provide affordable, high quality entertainment to residents throughout the East Bay and to provide training in live performing arts for children and adults. Financial aid is available for Youth Education & Drama Camp. Contra Costa Civic Theatre operates as an organization for everyone, inclusive of all ethnicities, gender identities, cultural backgrounds, and religions. It is dedicated to providing a safe space for artists to do their finest work, and for young artists to find their truest voice. Its stated goal is to be a beacon of artistic excellence and a center for creative learning and expression, where stories from all walks of life are celebrated and shared. The leadership team includes Kevin Benjamin (Managing Director), Alexandra Rivers (Director of Education), Kristin Smith (Production Director), Patrick Becerril (Box Office Manager), and Maryjo Bruce (Bookkeeper), along with board officers, members, and advisors such as Maureen Ray (Board President) and Irene Takahashi, Esq. (Board Secretary).
