About
Foothill Learning Academy offers a K-12 Homeschool Support Program where students can take enrichment and supplemental classes taught by independent contractors known as vendors. Students in the Yearbook class produce a homeschool yearbook, and all Foothill Learning Academy students are included in an annual full color, hardcover homeschool yearbook. Students can purchase this yearbook, and it is distributed at the “Yearbook Distribution Picnic & Ice Cream Social” in June.
• Schedule: Foothill Learning Academy is closed June 1–July 31 for summer break, and classes are offered on Tuesday and Wednesday in El Dorado Hills and on Monday and Thursday in Placerville.
• Price: Students can purchase a yearbook for $25.
Foothill Learning Academy states that it is not a school or a charter school. Classes are taught by qualified independent contractors, known as vendors, who are paid directly by the students’ parent or charter school. Most instructors are vendors with all local charter schools, and vendors are committed to obtaining vendor approval for the student’s school. Independent homeschoolers are welcome. The mission of Foothill Learning Academy is to support parent participation in education by organizing superior enrichment and supplemental classes for homeschool and charter school families. Foothill Learning Academy is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, California public benefit corporation, and it is led by Academy Directors Laurie Chiappe and Mary Frederick.
