Session One runs June 22–25, Session Two runs July 6–9 and July 13–16 as a two-week session, Session Three runs July 20–23, and Session Four runs July 27–30. The stop motion animation camp is two weeks long and is described as back by overwhelming demand.

Fly on the Wall Art School has operated for twenty-eight years since 1992 as a model designed to honor the creative spark. The mission states that it is an art space for youth ages 6–18, providing a safe and fun environment for students to learn about art, practice art, and discover their own unique way of expressing themselves, and to teach classic art skills in a way that protects and develops the creative voice and style of each student. The environment is described as a nurturing artistic community with individualized instruction and a structured curriculum, and students may choose to work independently on their own projects.

The program does not use set age groups, so teens, pre-teens, and first graders work together and share ideas. Camp sessions are designed to give artists-in-training insight into different aspects of art. Students produce finished pieces for a once-a-year Fly on the Wall student show, and the school has helped many former students put together polished portfolios.

Franklin Hagarty and Ethan Hofmayer are the owners and teachers and are described as carrying the torch passed on to them, with Susan Carkeek previously fostering the artistic community. Franklin Hagarty and Ethan Hofmayer each have ten years of educating and mentoring youth on the coast and are artists. Many former students have gained admittance to the San Francisco School of the Arts, and alumni complete their college education in a variety of fields, with most continuing to function creatively in their private lives. Ninety-eight percent of Fly on the Wall graduates complete their college education.

COVID-19 protocols at the camp include taking temperatures, wearing masks, wiping down materials, good ventilation, and a HEPA-rated air filter. In the event of a Stage 1 shelter-in-place mandate, families receive full credit for future art classes or camps with no expiration date.
