About
Grades of Green Youth Sustainability Programs offers K–12 students tools, mentorship, and programs to create measurable environmental impact in their schools and communities. Through hands-on programs, students identify environmental challenges, design solutions, and take action in their schools and communities. Program options include Launch Eco-Lessons (K–12th Grade), Rise Climate Solutions Campaign (6th–12th Grade), Soar Eco-Innovation Academy (9th–12th Grade), and Uplift School Partnership Services for schools and school districts.
• Ages: 5–18 years old
Since 2009, Grades of Green has activated youth for a sustainable future and has impact across 33 countries and growing. The organization’s mission is to equip K–12 students with the tools, mentorship, and programs to create measurable environmental impact in their schools and communities. Isabella Lee serves as the Multimedia Outreach & Operations Specialist; she studied Psychology at UCLA with a focus on Digital Humanities and Community Engagement and gained hands-on experience in UX, website design, and project management through academic projects and internships. Isabella’s artwork was recognized in an international ocean awareness competition, and she received an award from a UCLA student organization for a piece highlighting the connection between nature and mental health. She is proud to support environmental education through Grades of Green, where she brings together her creativity and advocacy. Grades of Green works with organizations like Dignity Health Sports Park.
Testimonials from participating schools and students describe their experiences in the programs. One school reported that many students were shocked by what they learned during waste audits and how much packaged food was being thrown away. Another school shared that students were working on projects to “recreate” the future to solve problems, creating new ideas focused on science and technology mixed with imagination and innovation. A participating elementary school noted that they were proud to keep electronics out of landfills and to inspire many people to reuse and recycle. A student from the Soar 2025 program shared that working with organizations like Dignity Health Sports Park gave them hands-on experience in sustainability initiatives and taught them how to collaborate with corporate partners.
