About

Performing Arts Workshops Summer Camp offers activities in musical theater, acting, dance, hip hop, choreography, commercials, TV Commercial Class, playwriting, The Writers Room, debate, language arts, and script interpretation and staging. Campers can also take part in guitar, Rock The Mic, Top Pop Choir, vocal techniques, voice and speech, speech training in diction, projection and dialects, vocal recording and production, show hosting, improv, physical comedy, LOL Comedy, comedy, stage presence, stage combat, Actors Sizzle Reel, filmmaking, photography, cheer, and stage FX makeup. Every session includes vocal workshops where children learn vocal warm-ups, proper breathing techniques, pitch, control, and phrasing for singers.

• Schedule: Four sessions from June 15–June 26, June 29–July 10, July 13–July 24, and July 27–August 7, with camp days running 9:00am–3:00pm and options for early drop-off and extended play

Performing Arts Workshops Summer Camp offers four sessions: Session 1 from June 15 to June 26, Session 2 from June 29 to July 10, Session 3 from July 13 to July 24, and Session 4 from July 27 to August 7. Drop-off and supervised playtime are available from 8:45am to 9:00am, camp hours are 9:00am to 3:00pm, pick-up and playtime run until 3:10pm, doors open at 8:00am for Sunrise Students, and Extended Play is available from 3:10pm to 5:00pm. PAW Musical Theater campers do not need to audition for a place in camp or for a part in the show, and campers are able to participate in camp and receive parts in shows without ever having to audition. Every child receives a role in the show based on individual aptitude and what will best suit their comfort level, and the show lineup may vary from one location to another. Family and friends can attend shows without having to buy or sell a ticket, and there are no fees for photos, video, costume, mic, sets, theater, or tickets, with free camp photos and video reels posted on the Facebook page for family and friends to download.

Performing Arts Workshops Summer Camp states that it offers the ultimate arts experience from rehearsal to performance in a safe, nurturing, non-competitive environment, and describes its Musical Theater summer camp as a creative, safe space where kids ages 6–14 can learn the craft of acting, welcoming young actors of all skill levels from novices to seasoned thespians. According to the program, PAW teachers are specialists in their fields and have extensive experience working with children. The teaching staff are described as working professionals in theater, film, or television who have or are working toward their bachelor’s or master’s degrees in their respective disciplines, and every teacher either possesses or is working toward a degree in their arts discipline and has prior experience teaching children. The program states that all teachers clear a criminal background check before being placed in the classroom. The mission of Performing Arts Workshops is to ensure that all school-aged children are provided the opportunity to experience a quality arts education through affordable after school enrichment and summer camp programming, with the development of character and life skills for school and beyond as a core principle.
