About

Golden Gourmet Cooking Classes & Kid's Camp offers cooking sessions where students participate in the preparation of various dishes for the style of cuisine they have enrolled in. The program includes Kid's Camp sessions as well as private cooking class parties, and students receive copies of all the recipes and dine on the dishes they prepare. Aprons are provided for those who wish, and students are asked to wear comfortable clothing and rubber-soled shoes.

• Ages: 8–18 years old
• Schedule: Kid's Camp sessions are held once in the spring, three times in the summer, and as a mini camp the week of Thanksgiving, with most classes running 5 days and each class approximately 2 1/2 hours long; classes are offered in the morning and again in the afternoon.
• Price: Adult classes are $30.00 plus a $20 material fee; children's classes are $25.00 plus a $15 material fee; private classes and parties cost $600 for up to 10 adults (add $60 each) and $500 for up to 10 kids ages 8 to 17 (add $50 each).

All classes are by pre-registration only, with registrations required at least 4 days before the beginning of class, and confirmation notices sent to participants 4 days before class. The organization reserves the right to cancel a class that has fewer than 5 students registered, and if a class is canceled, CSD will either offer a refund or a credit for a different class. Private cooking class parties are available for groups such as team building, birthday parties, bachelor and bachelorette parties, and baby and bridal showers, and these parties include recipes, all food products, and the lesson.

Golden Gourmet Catering opened in 1987 in the San Francisco Bay Area and moved to Sacramento in 1999. The program is led by Liza Kilgariff (Chef Liza), who has been actively cooking and planning meals for over 60 years. Liza has worked in restaurants from server to assistant manager of a large chain steak house restaurant, was elected Convention Chairman for the California Federation of Women's Clubs - California Juniors, studied business and completed all culinary courses at Santa Rosa Junior College, enrolled in Tante Marie's Culinary Academy in San Francisco, and teaches her own culinary classes.
